Welcome to Timeout Homes

Established in February 2004 Timeout has successfully supported young people with extremely high presenting needs and behaviours many of whom have been placed following secure detention or extended periods in mental health provision and who have experienced multiple placement breakdowns.

Timeout Homes offers therapeutic single occupancy placements or two bedded placements to children and young people between the ages of eleven to eighteen on long term basis and has a growing reputation for successfully caring for young people who present high levels of emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Staff teams and ratios are adapted to reflect the individual needs of every young person as identified from both their care plan and input from other professions involved in their care. Staffing levels are set to reflect need with a minimum of 1:1 staffing always available.

Timeout works closely with placing authorities and particularly with families to ensure a holistic package of care is delivered this includes a DCSF registered educational facility.

Timeout has a non exclusion policy based on our philosophy that young peoples' past experiences have had a profound and significant effect on their lives. Therefore all care plans whilst enabling young people to recognise and change over time reflect the realities of challenging behaviour and the need for young people to remain accepted and valued.
