“Fancy a Cuppa?”

10/05/2022

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week on the theme of Loneliness.

Feeling lonely is something that all of us can experience at any point and it can have a huge impact on our wellbeing. It’s important to remember that these feelings can pass and that there are lots of ways we can help each other too.

“Fancy a cuppa?” Sometimes reaching out to someone with as little as three words can make a big difference.

This goes out to all our young people, carer’s and staff at Timeout.

The theme this year is tackling loneliness. We have all been there during times of loss, gain, and changes.

Loneliness is not always about the lack of people around you. It can also include the lack of connection to the people around you.

The young people we work with are often placed with unfamiliar people. We, as a company will never lose sight of this and forever support the children in our care.

Here our some top tips to support the children in our care –

  • Be there to listen
  • Support them through difficulties
  • Stay involved in their life
  • Encourage their interests
  • Take what they say seriously
  • Build positive routines

Our young people our not alone, reach out and never lose sight of what we achieve here at Timeout!
