Our Schools

Timeout Homes recognises that the educational needs of the child are fundamental to the success of the Therapeutic Treatment Plan as part of an integrated treatment programme; and that the contribution of the educational team, led by the Head of Education is essential to this success. The ability to learn and gain qualifications is key to a child’s accessibility to further and higher education and/or vocational training and skills.

Each child has a bespoke individual learning package created for them, that is focused on their academic needs and personal interests and aspirations. Bsquared and Hodder testing are used to enable us to baseline a child’s achievements and monitor and report on progress. Each child has a Boxhall profile completed after 6 weeks in education to enable us to clearly identify their barriers to learning and provide methods to address these.

Bespoke education packages

There are some children and young people that cannot cope with the pressures of mainstream education, or the busy environments of the Pupil Referral Units in their area.

Our specialist SEMH education team, working with colleagues from the placing school or authority, can create a bespoke education package for these children, with the aim of removing their current barriers to learning and reengaging them in education.

Each package is created with the developmental needs of the child at the centre, and focuses on key areas that are identified through our baseline assessment packages, against which we measure the progress that is made whilst they are with us.
