What do we do collectively at Timeout at Christmas?

03/01/2024

As we approached the most magical time of the year, it’s easy to get lost in the excitement of gift-giving, festive meals, and glittering decorations. However, it’s important to remember that not everyone is able to have a traditional Christmas experience, especially those in vulnerable communities. At Timeout, we understand the importance of spreading joy and kindness during this time of year, and we are committed to helping those who are struggling to make ends meet. In this blog post, we’ll explore the initiatives that we’re undertaking to ensure that everyone can experience the magic of Christmas.

One of the initiatives that we’re most proud of is our Food Donation Box, located at Head Office. We invite everyone to contribute non-perishable festive items such as Pringles, nuts, mince pies, Christmas pudding, and soft drinks. These donations will go a long way in bringing warmth and joy to the families of our most vulnerable day pupils. As of now, the box is starting to fill up, which is lovely to see!

Additionally, Becky at Head Office has arranged a secret Santa for the staff. Each of us had been assigned a child to purchase a gift for, in the hopes of bringing a little Christmas cheer. We couldn’t be more excited to participate in this initiative and we are hoping we brought some joy.

However, we acknowledge that these initiatives are just the beginning. If there is anything any of you wonderful people would like to do to support us, whether it be food donations or gift-giving, please get in touch with myself or Becky. We are always open to more ways to spread love, not just for Christmas but throughout the year.

Christmas is truly the most magical time of the year, but it’s important to remember that not everyone is able to have a traditional experience. At Timeout, we’re dedicated to spreading joy and kindness during this time of year, especially for our most vulnerable families.

As always, thank you for your continued support and kindness. Merry Christmas from the Timeout Team!
