At Timeout Children's Homes, we have always believed that every child deserves the opportunity to feel safe, valued, and supported to reach their full potential.

This week marks a proud and significant moment in our journey as our CEO, Janet Lumb, was awarded an OBE by Prince William in recognition of her services to vulnerable children over the past 20 years.

The occasion was made even more special as Janet attended the investiture ceremony at

Windsor Castle alongside her son, Dominic Macauley, Managing Director of Timeout, and her daughters, Kate and Georgina, who were there to celebrate this remarkable achievement with her. It was a proud family moment and a fitting recognition of a lifetime dedicated to improving the lives of children and young people.

This prestigious honour reflects Janet's unwavering commitment to supporting vulnerable children and creating opportunities for them to thrive. Through her leadership, vision, and determination, hundreds of children have been given the stability, care, and support they need to build brighter futures.

However, anyone who knows Janet will know that she would be the first to say that this recognition is not hers alone.

Since Timeout was established more than 20 years ago, our mission has remained clear: to provide exceptional care, create nurturing environments, and help children overcome adversity and reach their full potential. What began as a passion for making a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people has grown into a respected organisation supporting children through our homes, schools, and specialist services.

At the heart of Timeout's success is a culture built on compassion, dedication, and an unwavering belief that every child matters. Over the years, our carers, educators, therapists, and support teams have worked tirelessly to provide the stability, encouragement, and opportunities that help children flourish.

Janet's OBE is therefore more than a personal achievement. It is a recognition of the collective efforts of everyone who has contributed to the Timeout story over the last two decades. From the staff who provide outstanding care every day to the young people whose resilience inspires us, this honour belongs to the entire Timeout community.

As we celebrate this incredible milestone, we also reflect on how far we have come and look ahead to the future with the same determination and purpose that have guided us from the beginning. While this award recognises the impact of the past 20 years, it also inspires us to continue working towards even better outcomes for the children and young people we support.

Please join us in congratulating Janet Lumb on this well-deserved honour. We are immensely proud of her achievement, grateful for her leadership, and excited for the future of Timeout as we continue our mission of transforming lives.

Congratulations, Janet, on your OBE. A truly remarkable achievement and a proud moment for your family, the Timeout team, and the many children whose lives you have helped shape.
